Microsoft CRM Data Migration overview for Consultant Developer

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and is now triggering parading Microsoft CRM installation, implementation, customization, data conversion, upgrade and migration interest. We often see the questions on data import and massage options for Microsoft CRM systems such as ACT! From custom Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server databases, in all these cases, departments should do their homework and understand their options, to the point massaging of data taken by Microsoft CRM SDK C or VB.Net programming (or if resources could afford contract programmers)
High-migration tool. You can only import master records, such as leads and contacts. Please be advised not to rely on this migration, if you are looking to migrate their ACT! history (activities, operations, etc.)
Scribe. Well - we must admit that these people are experts and their tools are excellent (you can find the best). Escrevente but may require for himself IT people have suffered in the team. In our experience - customers are asking for help for the deployment scribe migration, mainly integration with Microsoft Great Plains / Dynamics GP 9.0 or 8.0. Scribe is catching up with the migration tool, you can do with natural features such as doubling delays recognition (when you already have a position of leadership, account, contact similar phone number, email, contact name , Etc.)
Microsoft CRM SDK Programming. Technically - this way, can solve all its aspects, but the price and learning curve may be negative factor. Normally, as our experience indicates - Developer must have MS CRM SDK 2-3 medium-sized customization projects under its belt to do the job without problems.
ACT! Programming SDK. Normally Scribe can do the job, however, in some cases, where customers are using more exotic new version of ACT! (Scribe is not ready and with their scripts) - you can deploy ACT! SDK to gain access to data and create ACT migration automatic script (in concert with MS CRM SDK Programming 3.0/1.2)
Microsoft CRM Upgrade. Generally, 1.0 or 1.2 to 3.0. Check with us if you have problems. Microsoft CRM 3.0 has redesigned multiple structures. We plan to publish dedicated to MS Dynamics CRM 3.0 upgrade article
